Biology

The program in Biology is based on the approaches derived from biochemistry, biophysics, and genetics that offer new possibilities for expanded insight into long-standing problems. This option includes specialized tracks in Biophysics, Cellular Biology, Developmental Biology, Genetics, Immunology, Microbiology, Molecular Biology and Biochemistry, and Systems Biology.

Bioengineering

The graduate program in Bioengineering focuses on the application of engineering principles to the design, analysis, construction, and manipulation of biological systems, and on the discovery and application of new engineering principles inspired by the properties of biological systems.

Computation and Neural Systems

The program in Computation and Neural Systems (CNS) focuses on understanding the brain on a computational basis and on drawing inspiration from biology to design autonomous intelligent machines. The program is at the nexus of experimental neuroscience, computational biology, and systems engineering with emphasis on interdisciplinary approaches.

Neurobiology

The program in Neurobiology organizes study of the nervous system, from events at the molecular and cellular level, through the function of circuits, to phenomena of animal and human behavior, including the computational modeling of neural processes.
