Entrepreneur, philanthropist, and life member of the Caltech Board of Trustees Eli Broad and his wife, Edythe, have pledged $5 million through The Eli and Edythe Broad Foundation to endow a professorial chair at Caltech.
Initiative kicked off with $115 million gift from philanthropists Tianqiao Chen and Chrissy Luo to establish a new institute and provide continuous funds for neuroscience research. Caltech to construct $200 million biosciences complex that will include new institute.
In appreciation for the opportunities Caltech afforded him, professor, vice provost, and alumnus Mory Gharib is paying it forward, supporting new generations of Caltech graduate students through an endowed fellowship fund.
A new leadership chair in Caltech’s Division of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering (CCE) will amplify the Institute’s support of its scholars’ freedom to pursue the most interesting and challenging lines of inquiry.
