Postdoctoral Researcher to Study Cell Migration Required for Organ Formation in Vivo (Stathopoulos Lab)

A postdoctoral research fellow position is available to study how cell migration contributes to organ formation during Drosophila embryogenesis. This project will build on our recent progress in this area (Macabenta & Stathopoulos, Development 2019) by using cutting-edge live imaging, single cell sequencing, and molecular approaches to analyze both homo- and heterotypic cell-cell interactions in vivo. The successful applicant will join Angelike Stathopoulos's lab at Caltech to work on this NIH funded project. For further details of research within the Stathopoulos lab, see: http://stathlab.caltech.edu. You should hold or be working towards a PhD in a biological science, be highly motivated and have an interest in studying cell-cell interactions. The position is available for 3 years, with possibility of extension.

Applications are due by April 15, 2022. Candidates should send CV, include list of publications, a brief statement of research interests, and names and contact details for threes references, to [email protected] For questions regarding the position, shortlisting, and interviews contact [email protected]

We are an equal opportunity employer and all qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to age, race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, or national origin, disability status, protected veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by law.

COVID-19 Vaccine Requirement
Caltech has implemented a mandatory vaccination policy effective October 15, 2021, requiring COVID-19 vaccinations for all employees (with Institute-approved exemptions for religious or medical contraindications only). At present, an individual is deemed "fully vaccinated" when that person has received, at least 14 days prior, either the second dose in a two-dose COVID-19 vaccine series (e.g., Pfizer or Moderna) or a single-dose COVID-19 vaccine (e.g., Johnson & Johnson). Upon eligibility, employees are required to receive the COVID-19 booster as part of the vaccine mandate. As a condition of employment, employees must submit official COVID-19 vaccine documentation.
