Postdoctoral Position in Neuronal Mechanobiology (Lois Lab)

The Lois Lab at Caltech is seeking highly motivated individuals to work on a HFSP-funded research project focused on using synthetic biology to investigate the mechanobiological effects of neuronal activity. The research combines techniques in molecular biology, cell biology, biochemistry, imaging, engineering of viral vectors, and transgenesis in mice and Drosophila.

Representative publications:

REQUIREMENTS: A Ph.D. in molecular biology, biochemistry, or cell biology is required. Strong expertise in molecular and cell biology (molecular cloning, cell culture, protein analysis) is necessary. Candidates must have a record of research excellence demonstrated by publication. Applicants who are motivated to develop careers as independent investigators are especially encouraged to apply.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Salary will be based on the NIH guidelines and commensurate with experience. The position is fully funded by NIH grants. It is anticipated that the postdoctoral fellow will stay in the lab for 4-5 years to complete the project.
