Postdoctoral Research

The Division of Biology and Biological Engineering is home to more than 150 active postdoctoral scholars. These scholars, or "postdocs," are individuals who have completed the highest level of academic achievement in their field—the MD or PhD—and are pursuing a program of research and training under the direction of a faculty member in biology or biological engineering. Each postdoc plays a critical role in advancing research and providing new insights into a diverse range of topics and sub specialties, and are thus carefully selected and appointed to a position on the recommendation of a faculty sponsor.
Many of the postdocs who complete their training in the division continue on to tenure-track positions at universities and institutions and to research positions in industry.
