Postdoc Handbook
New Postdoc Scholar Appointment & Reappointment
Submit New Postdoc Scholar Appointment
- Complete Postdoc Application
- Submit to your Faculty Sponsor/Lab Admin to finalize the application
- Provide the completed application, current CV along with 2-3 recommendation letters to Stefany Nielsen for processing
Reappointment form to Stefany Nielsen
- Stefany Nielsen will contact your faculty sponsor (3 months in advance to your contract end date for US Citizens, 6 months for those on a visa) and ask if a reappointment is necessary
- If you have not heard anything from your faculty sponsor, you can reach out to me to see if a reappointment is in process. If not, please discuss with your faculty sponsor.
- No forms are necessary for a reappointment
Leave of Absence
Complete this Leave of Absence form and send to Stefany Nielsen for processing
Refer to the Postdoc Handbook for Leave of Absence Policy
Detached Duty
To complete if you will be out of residence for more than 3 weeks.
Download and fill out PD Detached Duty form.
Submit PD Detached Duty form to Stefany Nielsen for further approvals and processing.
Departure from Caltech
For a smooth transition, inform your PI and Admin as soon as you know you will
leave Caltech.
Download and fill out HR Departure form.
Submit HR form to Stefany Nielsen for processing
Visa Fee Reimbursement Form
If you have a visa expense that was paid out of your pocket, you can submit this Visa Fee Reimbursement form to be reimbursed up to $500
This should be processed by the lab admin. Contact Stefany with questions.
