Graduate Admissions
Completed applications should be submitted online to the Graduate Office before the December 1 deadline, for entrance the following fall term. Applicants are encouraged to submit their applications as early as possible. Applications will not be reviewed until all credentials have been received.
Successful candidates often have in common:
- a grade point average in the top 5% of their undergraduate class, strong letters of recommendation
- a passion for research as demonstrated by active participation in undergraduate research
- quantitative skills
GRE scores are not required.

Students with an interest in medical research may wish to consider the joint MD/PhD programs with UCLA and USC, which award a PhD from Caltech and an MD from either UCLA or USC.
